Welcome to Art of Chad. As you will discover, this site has a heavy focus on writing rather than pictures alone. This can be partly explained by the purpose it was initially created. In 2006, I gave a lecture to about 200 Chinese academics on western art and subsequently framed my art in the context. To provide online support for the lecture, I created the site with explanations supporting the pictures. (Ironically, the site ended up getting blocked in China.) Another reason for the heavy use of words is that I am as much as a writer as a painter. I see the two mediums as providing creative support for the other. I use writing to record ideas on my art, and use art to get ideas for writing.
